A1 Drawing Storage Cabinets
An A1 drawing cabinet is a flat-file plan chest for storing drawings, plans and other large-format sheets flat, without folding or rolling them. Cabinets are 1100 mm wide and 750 to 765 mm deep, with a choice of five or ten shallow drawers, and a matching leg stand is available to raise a cabinet to working height.
Why flat storage
Rolled drawings curl and have to be weighted down to be read; folded ones crease along the fold and tear at the corners. A plan chest keeps each sheet flat and supported across its whole area, so a drawing stays usable and legible for as long as the project needs it. Shallow drawers matter here: a drawer that holds only a modest stack lets you reach the sheet you want without lifting and disturbing everything above it, which is what damages archived drawings over time.
Drawers, stands and configuration
The five-drawer cabinet suits a working set of current drawings; the ten-drawer cabinet suits an archive, or a practice with several projects running at once. Overall heights range from 100 to 760 mm depending on configuration, so a cabinet can sit on a worktop, stand alone at low level, or be raised on the leg stand for over-the-top working. All models take standard A1 sheets, and smaller sizes stored flat within the same drawer.
