Data Safe Series S
The Data Safe Series S is a fireproof data safe with a 120-minute data rating — two hours of protection for tapes, disks and drives. Five sizes run from 71 to 590 litres, quoted in LTO tape capacity as well as volume.
120-minute data protection
A data rating is stricter than a paper rating: magnetic and optical media are damaged at far lower temperatures than paper, and by humidity as well as heat, so a data safe must hold both down for the full two hours. The Series S is a fire-rated data safe rather than a certified burglary-rated one — where an insurer requires an EN 1143-1 burglary grade alongside the data rating, the Fire Star Plus range carries one.
Choosing your Data Safe Series S
Sizes run from 732 to 1,850 mm high and 786 to 1,195 mm wide on a constant 918 mm depth. That depth is substantial, so check the delivery route and the floor loading as well as the space, and allow for the door swing in front. Choose a key lock, a 9-user electronic code lock, or a 90-user digital lock with emergency key override, in Light Grey RAL 7035. Every safe can be bolted down to a floor or wall.
