Vault Doors - Grade 3
A Grade 3 vault door turns a room into the strong room, giving certified burglary resistance to everything inside it rather than to the fixed volume of a single safe. Doors are certified to EN 1143-1 Grade 3 and made to the opening, from 820 to 3220 mm high and 570 to 2250 mm wide.
Certified Grade 3 strong room protection
Every vault door is independently tested for burglary resistance to EN 1143-1 and certified by VdS and ECB•S in Germany, rather than rated by the company that built it. Grade 3 is the highest of the three vault door grades we stock, specified where a lower grade will not meet the risk — jewellery strong rooms, precious metals, currency processing, high-value warehousing. Insulated construction adds fire protection for the contents. What you can insure inside depends on your policy and your market, so confirm the sum with your insurer.
Specifying and installing a vault door
Doors are recessed into the structural opening, so the wall has to carry the frame and the bolt throw has to be set on site. That makes installation a construction job rather than a delivery, and at this grade a structural assessment of the opening and the floor is part of the specification. Safegear installs across Europe and North America. Locking runs from a key lock to a 9-user code lock, a 90-user digital lock with emergency key override, or code locks on both sides for two-person access control. The door opens through 180 degrees on external hinges.
