Yale Safe

Yale safes are compact security safes for the home and the small office, for cash, jewellery, passports, documents and a laptop. Four sizes run from 18 to 31 litres, standing 200 to 400 mm high, 350 to 480 mm wide and 300 to 350 mm deep — sized for a wardrobe shelf, a cupboard or a desk pedestal rather than the floor of a room.

What this range is for

These are everyday safes rather than certified safes: the range does not carry an EN 1143-1 or EN 14450 burglary grade, so where an insurer specifies a grade for a sum kept at home or at work, our certified ranges are the ones to look at — the SG and Seguro ranges at EN 14450, the Libra and Lyra ranges at EN 1143-1 Grade 0 and Grade 1. What a Yale safe answers is the more common problem: keeping valuables out of reach of an opportunist, a visitor or a child.

Choosing your Yale safe

The range covers electronic PIN, key lock and combination models. A PIN lock lets you set and change the code yourself, with no key to lose or copy; a key lock suits a safe with one keyholder. Every model has anchor points for bolting to a floor or a wall, which matters most on a safe of this size — the weight alone will not stop one being carried off. A model sized for a laptop is included in the range.
